A Gary man died four days after he was shot. Gary Police were sent to the 1900 block of Virginia Street for a gunshot victim Jan. 25, Police Spokeswoman Lt. Dawn Westerfield sais in an email Tuesday. When they arrived, they found a man who'd been shot on the sidewalk, she said. Gary Fire medics rushed the man, who was alert, to an area hospital and stabilized him before he was transported to Advocate Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, Illinois, Westerfield said.
